Cookie Policy

Short version: We don't use cookies. At all. That's why you don't see a cookie banner.

What we don't use

• No first-party cookies. No session ID, no preferences cookie, no anything.
• No third-party cookies. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising cookies.
• No tracking pixels. No 1×1 transparent images that report visits to anyone.
• No fingerprinting. We don't read your screen size, fonts, or other browser identifiers for tracking purposes.

What we DO use: localStorage

localStorage is a browser feature distinct from cookies. It stores data on your device only — it's never automatically transmitted to any server. We use it for:

• Per-game stats (plays, wins, streak, win-distribution histogram).
• Per-game skill score (0–100) and tier (Bronze through Master) for adaptive difficulty in Practice mode.
• Your settings (theme, sound on/off, haptic on/off, locked tier, etc.).
• In-progress game state so you can resume mid-puzzle.
• An error log buffer (last 50 errors) used by the "Report a bug" page — never auto-transmitted.

All of this stays in your browser unless you explicitly export it via the QR-code backup feature in Settings.

Why no cookie banner?

Cookie banners exist because of EU/UK rules requiring consent for non-essential cookies and tracking. Since we don't set any cookies and don't track you, no banner is required. If we ever add cookies (we have no plans to), we'll add a proper consent flow.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare's cookie-less Web Analytics for aggregate page-view counts. It does NOT use cookies or fingerprinting. See Cloudflare's privacy notes.

Clearing your local data

To wipe your stats and progress: open browser settings → "Clear site data" for wordonlinegames.com. Or in your account on this site: Settings → Reset stats.
