Scoring uses standard English Scrabble (TWL06) letter values. The BINGO bonus is +50 for using all 7 of your tiles. Premium tile multipliers (double-word, triple-letter) depend on board position and aren't applied here — multiply manually for your placement.
Standard Scrabble letter values
These are the values used by the tool. They match the official English Scrabble (TWL06) point system:
High-value strategy
- Save Q for QU words. Q without U is a liability. Words like QUEEN, QUART, QUIET keep the Q useful.
- Hold S as long as possible. S adds 1 point AND pluralizes most words, doubling the value of plays that hit a double-word tile.
- Aim for BINGOs. +50 for using all 7 tiles. Common 7-letter words from common tiles: RETAINS, TRAINER, REPLACE, OUTRACE, SEASIDE.
- Don't waste J/X/Z on cheap plays. 8-10 point letters need a multiplier square to pay off. JAZZ on a triple-word is 200+ points.
- Hook plays. Adding S to BAR makes BARS — single tile, double word value. The tool doesn't model this; check your board manually.
Premium tile multipliers (manual math)
The tool gives you the base score. Your actual play on the board is:
- DL (light blue) — that one letter doubles its value
- TL (dark blue) — that one letter triples its value
- DW (pink) — the whole word's score doubles AFTER letter multipliers
- TW (red) — the whole word's score triples AFTER letter multipliers
So QUIET (base 14 points) played with the Q on a double-letter and the whole word on a double-word: (10×2 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1) × 2 = 48 points. Plus BINGO +50 if it used all 7 tiles. The tool flags BINGOs but you do the multiplier math.
